Nucleic acid processing
Provitro’s quality management certified lab offers services for total RNA isolation from cells and various tissue types. Total RNA is isolated from your material, using the QIAGEN RNeasyTM system. Purified RNA will be aliquoted as necessary for further investigation according to the customer’s need and will be stored clearly labelled at -80°C. All processes are accomplished according to standard operation procedures (SOP). Quality control and product release are arranged according to clearly defined criteria.
- Standard quality control
Standard quality control is run for the purpose of checking on the ratio between absorbance values at 260 and 280 nm. That ratio provides for an estimate of the purity of RNA with regard to contaminants absorbed in the UV, such as proteins. The results allow to quantify the total amount of purified RNA and reveal possible sample contaminations detectable in the UV-range. - Advanced quality control
On request, each sample may be tested regarding RNA degradation or signs of apoptose, using the Agilent 2100 Bioanalyser System. The resulting electropherogramme is checked for baseline development, marker peak and ribosomal signal intensity (ratio 28S/18S RNA).
